ELEMENTARY THEATER (K-5TH/6TH GRADE) Instructor: Angela Beale Course Outline: 1. Introduction to Theatre – What is theatre? Exploring stories and characters. 2. Voice & Movement – Using body and voice to express emotions and ideas. 3. Improvisation & Creative Play – Building confidence and teamwork through games. 4. Storytelling & Character Development – Creating characters and acting out short scenes. 5. Stage Skills – Learning about stage directions, audience awareness, and ensemble work. 6. Putting It All Together – Rehearsing and presenting a short group performance. Objectives: Students will be able to: • Demonstrate basic theatre skills including projection, movement, and expression. • Work cooperatively in an ensemble, respecting and supporting peers. • Use imagination to create characters and act out original or familiar stories. • Show increased confidence in public speaking and performance. • Recognize theatre as a form of storytelling, creativity, and collaboration. Class size: 10-15 students
Participants must be entering grades kindergarten to 6.
